For people in parts of Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Herbert and Lower Burdekin, North West, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego Forecast Districts.

Severe thunderstorms developing over inland areas.

Weather Situation: Multiple inland troughs are generating thunderstorms this evening.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders and Herbert and Lower Burdekin districts. Locations which may be affected include Charters Towers.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds over the next several hours in parts of the North West, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego districts. Locations which may be affected include Roma, Charleville, Isisford, Tambo, Boulia and Urandangi.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
