Source: QLD Rural Fire Service LEAVE IMMEDIATELY - Myall Park and Hookswood (near Miles) - fire as at 2:15pm Monday, 13 February 2023 Warning Level: Emergency Warning Warning Area: Between Leichhardt Highway, Gearys Road, Greens Road and Ryalls Road A fast-movingfire is travelling Warramoo Road and is expected to impact Ryalls Road within the coming hours. This fire may pose a threat to lives. It will soon be too dangerous to drive. Major roads in the area may be impacted. What you should do: - LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. Follow your bushfire survival plan now. - Wear protective clothing and stay hydrated. - Take vital medications with you. - Avoid driving on Myall Park Road, Hookswood Pelham Road, Retreat Road, Kerwicks Road, Retreat Road and Old Forrestry Road,. - Check for road closures on 13 90 40 and let others know of your intended travel route. - Stay informed: - Follow QFES on Facebook and Twitter. - Listen to your local radio station - Check the QFES current bushfires dashboard regularly - If your life or property is threatened, call Triple Zero (000) immediately. Impacts: - Conditions could get worse quickly and properties will likely be impacted. - Conditions are very dangerous and the fire may pose a threat to lives. - Firefighters may not be able to stop the fire from advancing. Do not expect a firefighter at your door. - Power, water and mobile phone services may be lost. - Smoke will reduce air quality and visibility. It may become hard to breathe. - Road conditions may become very dangerous, and roads may be closed. It will soon be too dangerous to drive. If you can’t leave safely: - Identify a safe place to shelter, preferably inside a brick building. - Close windows and doors. - Move flammable items away from your house. - Fill containers with water for drinking and firefighting. - Bring pets inside.
